Winemaker's Comments: 2003 Red Flyer California Red Table Wine Other Red Wine
From the darkest reaches of the universe comes this red wine invasion from the Rhone planet.
Red Flyer represents an emerging new genre of wines that we are referring to as "Entertainment Wines". These wines offer exceptional value and serve as the centerpiece of any dining experience. The fanciful themed label is meant to spark conversation and bring a smile to the face and laughter to the heart. RF is a secret blend of Syrah, Mouvedre, Durif, Grenache, Carignane, and Clone X and is blended in the tradition of the French Rhone wines. Clone X, the secret ingredient, was smuggled from Outer Space in the hyperbolic chamber of one of the forward thinking Grays.
The wine is classic Rhone with vibrant pepper and spice with bright red fruits and balanced acidity.

As flat in taste as the flying saucer is in shape on the bottle label. This wine left a waxy layer of film on my tongue – what is up with that? Could be an alien invasion and now there is a probe in my mouth. I paired this unidentified table wine with an alien dinner of meatloaf. You must check out the website though – a fun game of catch the wine bottle is out-of-this-world and eerily addicting.

Pretty thin aside from a slightly unpleasant initial sharpness and sour flavor. Fittingly for something labeled “red table wine” it doesn’t have any distinct personality. Has a great label to read with your cereal in the morning, though!
