Winemaker's Comments: 2004 Climbing Orange Australia Shiraz
Shiraz from Orange is not one to deliver big sweet fruits but rather an elegant European flavour, thanks to the cool climate and altitude. The style is laden with intense white pepper, rich plum and vanillin oak. Philip Shaw is no stranger to making great Shiraz from this region, having collected a trophy for the best red wine at the 2002 National Wine Show in Canberra for an Orange Shiraz.

Floating Cork Wine Review & Rating By Jeff O'Brien |

Sharp enough aroma of scotch, scotch, scotch, scotchy, scotch, scotch to give me the alcohol shivers, and even though I love me a good neat scotch, this is not a quality I look for in wines. Also left a roof-of-mouth aftertaste that stuck around well past its welcome like my friend Jimmy eating bean burritos and watching C.H.U.D. at 1am at my place on Tuesday night. You reading this Jimmy? Don’t make me spell it out for you again…
