Winemaker's Comments: 2002 Camelot Cabernet Sauvignon
Notes of juniper and tobacco leaf add complexity and interest to the dominant aromas of earthy, dark fruit. Flavors echo aromas with smoky notes of oak and fine, well-integrated tannins. The wine is initially reserved, but builds in the mouth, offering a full midpalate and a lingering finish.

A Modern Day Roundtable
It was less round and more rectangular – the coffee table that the $8 Camelot Cabernet Sauvignon sat upon. Initially after being uncorked, the aroma was pungent and exciting, its sharp bouquet stabbing my noses’ senses deep. On this occasion I paired the Camelot with grilled bratwurst. Not so surprisingly, the combination turned out to be a battle of bite instead of a well matched duo. In retrospect, I would have paired this bold wine with a meaty steak or a zesty red sauce – to enhance the wine's robust fruity flavor. When you have bratwurst in the fridge, you have bratwurst for dinner.
