Winemaker's Comments: 2004 Chateau St. Jean Sonoma County Gewurztraminer
Orange blossoms, ripe grapefruit and lychee nut aromas leap from the nose of this classic Gewurztraminer. A rich, medium-bodied entry fills the palate with flavors of jasmine, orange zest and cantaloupe and leads into a clean, creamy and refreshing long finish.

I have to begin by saying that I'm generally not a Gewurztraminer girl. I've always found them to be too sweet for my taste. This one is an exception for me though. It was sweet, but not too sweet. Just enough to be refreshing. We tried this in the tasting room at Chateau St. Jean and they paired it with an asian chicken salad, it was a perfect match. I'd highly recommend this lightly sweet wine with some spicy food.
