Winemaker's Comments: 2002 Chateau St. Jean Sonoma County Merlot
Tempting sweet chocolate, boysenberry and undertones of mocha fill the nose of this Merlot. A big, rich entry leads into a layered mid-palate of round tannins and well integrated black plums, black cherries and subtle roasty notes. Long on the finish, the wine leaves a lasting impression of ripe fruit.

While light and refreshing for a merlot, this bad boy of the grape vine slams you like a cement truck running over a senior citizen with its bold yet refined finish. A great merlot through and through.
