Winemaker's Comments: 2005 Broquel Trapiche Other Red Wine
Broquel mean shield and symbolizes a family's heritage. Originally, the grapes were sourced from the vineyards surrounding the winery, but nowadays, our winemakers choose the best terroirs for each variety to elaborate there outstanding wines. The ultra-premium Broquel range shows fruit concentration at its best.
The grapes were hand harvested during the first days of March from high-altitude vineyards. A small proportion of the wine was aged for 9 months in oak barrels to add complexity and structure. Lovely freshness and good harmony. To be enjoyed now or leave 2 to 3 years cellaring.

Bonarda the 1st
This was the first foray into the world of Bornada for our esteemed Floating Cork staff, and it was an interesting adventure. Oakey and smokey with distinct dried fruit flavors. We can see why South American growers are gravitating towards this varietal; it's very approachable and will pair well with a variety of foods, including red meats, aged cheeses and hearty comfort foods.
