Winemaker's Comments: 2004 Ferrari Carano Back Forty Other Red Wine
With the 2004 vintage, the varietal composition of Back Forty moved closer to 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. The addition of 3% Syrah lifts the fruit while adding a subtle flavor dimension. The wine has a classic, dark fruit, mountain-grown Cabernet Sauvignon color and aroma. The richly textured flavors are deep and layered, with good supporting oak tannins. It's big, but with elegance, and isn't ripe or coarse.
