Winemaker's Comments: 2004 Osborne Solaz Shiraz - Tempranillo
Osborne Solaz offers a balanced blend between Shiraz and Tempranillo, Spain's indigenous grape. The result is an intense purple-colored wine with red fruit aroma, a spicy, structured taste, and roundness that comes from four months of aging in oak barrels.

Best Bulk for the Buck
I'm usually not a fan of bulk wine, but if you have to go bulk, this is it. Although at $18 for 1.5L, perhaps it's not in the same class as most bulk wines. I see this as more of a good low cost wine that happens to come in a large bottle.
With my first sip, it had a great caramel and brown sugary taste. It's very smooth, goes down easy. It's not overly complex or anything that's going to earn kudos in Wine Spectator, but it's good. Simple, tasty, unimposing.

Excellent value for the 1.5L giant. VERY mild and not overlycomplex. Fruity, meadium to full bodied tannins. Initially very pleasing but lacking in the complexity that would put this over 4.0.
