Winemaker's Comments: 2006 Sunstone Syrah Rosé
Vibrant red in the glass rimmed by the familiar tint of pink roses, aromas of strawberry and citrus spill from the glass. Bright fruit flavors of strawberry, banana, papaya, honeydew, and blood orange yield to fresh floral aromas and sweet perfume notes. Sip and you discover this light bodied wine is filled with complex flavors of red cherry, strawberry and citrus. This dry rose finishes crisp and clean. The flavors are a whisper of refreshing fruit flavors framed by balanced acidity and a clean, dry finish. A perfect companion for summer picnics, long afternoons sipping on the porch or turkey burgers off the grill.

A Syrah Rose? I wasn't sure what to make of this bottle at first, but once the layers of fruit flavors hit my toungue I understood. Think Syrah without any distracting tannins. A milder, lighter, utterly drinkable Syrah.
