Winemaker's Comments: 2004 Errazuriz Single Vineyard Carmenere
A lively, deep red colour with cherry edges distinguishes our 2004 Carmenere
Single Vineyard. This wine beautifully displays the classic characteristics of
the variety. The bouquet exhibits spice, black pepper and roasted red pepper
intertwined with aromas of dry figs, sweet ripe cherries and blackberry fruit.
The long barrel ageing adds rich notes of vanilla and coffee. This beautifully
balanced wine opens on the palate with soft, velvety tannins expanding into a
rich mouthfeel with toasty oak notes delicately mingled with hints of tobacco
and caramel. The finish lingers on in a round, long and pleasant aftertaste.

Safe, Reliable Carmenere
Definite notes of fig and dried fruits, with an overall 'nutty' flavor that I really enjoyed.
The presentation and taste of this Chilean wine is very reminiscent of Mondavi - it's a reliable and safe wine for any occasion, but it won't raise your eyelids and burn itself into your wine subconscious. Pick this bottle up when you need a sure thing...
