Winemaker's Comments: Choya Umeshu Plum Wine
Japanese Plum Wine with Plums Added. The added natural fruit is called UME in Japanese. The organic acid of UME balances the beautiful taste of CHOYA. CHOYA will satisfy your taste buds to the last drop.

Sassy and sweet
Great for sipping, this plum wine is a perfect introduction to Japanese wines. Sweet with apricot and clove overtones. Solid 'legs' will coat your tongue with a very satisfying and refreshing sugar-rich flavor.

I never would have guessed it...
I didn't have high expectations for this one, as I am not a sweet wine fan, but I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was lightly sweet with great plum, apricot and peach flavors. It has a good mouth feel, a nice coat but not too thick. I highly recommend taking the label's advice and enjoying it on the rocks or mixed with a dry sparkling wine. This wine would go very well with some spicy Asian food, or as a dessert in itself.
