Winemaker's Comments: 2004 Lincourt Santa Barbara County Syrah
Hand harvested in September and October, the 2004 vintage of Santa Barbara County Syrah is a blend of two premium vineyards. Sourced primarily from the Star Lane Vineyard (68%), a warm-climate hillside property found in the eastern Santa Ynez Valley, the balance comes from Rancho Santa Rosa in the cool, maritime-influenced Santa Rita Hills AVA. The Lincourt 2004 Syrah has an intense core of jammy fruit with subtle spicy nuances in the recesses. In the bouquet aromas of late-summer plum, boysenberry and blackberry jam mingle with chocolate, creme de cassis, white pepper and hints of lavender. Full-bodied, the wine is fleshy, round and textured in the mouth.

Nice sharp syrah. Pleasant, non-threatening aroma, not very distinct flavors. Medium body. Like a clever friend you wouldn’t be too surprised to find out murdered someone in an elaborate death trap. Yeah! I just anthropomorphized the sh*t outta that wine!
