Winemaker's Comments: 2005 Lincourt Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir
The blending of premium vineyard sources from different Santa Barbara County appellations has created complex wine with intriguing aromatics and distinct structure. Classic vinification coupled with the finest French cooperage had further enhanced this wine. Fruit was carefully de-stemmed, crushed and racked to small open-top tanks for a two week fermentation and extraction period. Following extraction, the wine was pressed and transferred to small 60-gallon French oak barrels for aging. Softly textured in the mouth this Pinot Noir boasts aromas of blueberry, blackberry, raspberry and cranberry intertwined with notes of vanilla, cola, earth and spice. The wine offers a velvety soft, broad mouthfeel with a long, full finish. Drink now through 2014.
