2005 Sanford Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir
Of the wines put before us in Sanford's tasting room, this Pinot was far and away top of the bunch. Pinot Noir is of course the crown jewel of the Central Coast, and for good reason. Sanford has been able to create a very unique version without losing any of the fruity and flavorful notes that make this varietal such a rock star. You'll taste some cherry and blackberry action followed up by an ever-so-slight peppery/oaky finish.
