Of all the wineries I have visited, Buttonwood is my favorite. Friendly, sunny and unpretentious are both winery and staff. The pourers do so freely with an energy that exudes fun without being the slightest bit stuffy. This is a perfect winery to visit if it is your first time, or if you have been a connoisseur for years. As some wineries move you along like cattle in the tasting process, Buttonwood Farms allows you to stroll through their peach orchards, gardens, and on our first visit, they allowed me and my husband to hoof it up a hill to see the grape vines and visit their goats.

Buttonwood 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon

If I am ever off the track with Cabernet Sauvignon and drinking terrible ones, I will know it as soon as I loop back to Buttonwood. This winery's Cab's are always perfection, with rich fruity flavors and a finish long enough to enjoy it.

Buttonwood 2002 Devin

Do I dare say it? The Devin is divine. I have never tried a Devin before, am unsure if they even exist anywhere else. If you haven't delved into a Devin either, I would suggest giving this Santa Barbara County Fair winner a try.

Buttonwood 2002 Syrah

I generally find Syrah's to be exciting, and this Syrah did not fail to ignite my taste buds. Deep red fruits like raspberry, cherry and plum were represented.
